One of our favorite restaurants in neighborhhood, SUJI's had a 4th anniversary party.    They have served gorgeous and perfect brunch, very big burgers, and a variety of American foods that not only Americans but we all enjoyed their superb tastes - it's like Mom's home cooking.   According to Ms. Suji, they added more menus such as  healthy vegetable dishes, or small portioned plates.  Unlike fast food restaurants, they cook everything with good care in the open-kitchen and don't use any frozen ingredients!  Ms. Suji is a Korean-American brought up in the U.S., but she also speaks fluent Japanese.  She is such a charming lady who always cheers us up.  It's a great restaurant to have delicious American food in relaxing and cheerful atmosphere.  You can take your children, too!!

昼間、通りかかるとオーナーのSujiさんが・・・

「4周年記念パーティーをやるので参加していただけませんか」　「いつも利用してくださるので貴方たちをご招待します」　とのこと。　

最近行っていないのに悪いな～　と思いつつも、せっかくなので参加しちゃいました。

BIGなハンバーガーをはじめとして、ボリューム満点のこのお店。　特にアメリカ人には好評で彼らにとっての「おふくろの味」　といったようなお店のようです。

4周年を機に新メニューも続々追加したとこのと。（野菜を使ったヘルシーメニューや量を抑えたメニューも登場）

ファミレスと違い冷凍食品は使わずオープンキッチンで調理しています。

Sujiさんはアメリカ育ちの韓国人。（日本語ペラペラ）　気さくで笑顔が素敵な女性です。

是非、お近くにいらした際に訪れてみてください。

Today, I would like to return to the " My Arrangement" series, which I started in our spring 2010 blog.  I introduced how I use/arrange Japanese antiques by taking up one particular item at a time.  Today's item is a wooden Okamochi, the bucket with handles which was used to bring foods, bottles, and etc.  I put pots of foliage plants in it. Because of its latticed work, plants can breathe well.  And because of its convenient handle, you can move plants wherever you like.  Moreover, the bottom of the bucket is also latticed, so it's great to water the plants without taking them out !  Since it is very strong, we can carry many bottles when we have a garden party.  It's always very important to get rid of your stereotypes!!

久々にシリーズ復活　題して、　「私ならこう使う・・・・　」　

今回ご紹介するのは、瓶を運ぶ岡持ちの登場　（多分そうだと思うのですが・・・・）　

格子が張り巡らされ、通気性がバツグン　ご覧のように観葉植物を入れてお好きな場所に持ち運べるようにしてはいかがでしょう

底板部分も格子状ですから、水やりにも便利、昼間は日当たりの良い場所、夜は室内に移動するなんてことが簡単に出来ちゃいます。　う～ん　　これは便利だ・・・・・・・。

頑丈な作りですからガーデンパーティーやBBQの際、ワインやカトラリー等を運んだりしてもいいですね。

既成概念を取り払えば色々用途が広がります。　是非、お試しあれ

Today, we delivered Tansu to our customer's apartment.  There were 3 cute (& naughty?!) children, and they were so curious about it

Their father said, 'There is a secret box somewhere in this chest.  Can you find it? '  They suddenly kneeled down on the floor and looked into it.

Finally, one of them found it She looked so HAPPY   This is my happiest moment to see our costomer's smile.  I realized again that it is very important to deliver our items by ourselves.

I hope they will continue to enjoy it and remember today's event

Their apartment was on the 37th floor, and they kindly offered us to enjoy the view of today's clear sky......BUT I was afraid of height  I could enjoy the giddy feeling....

今日は近所のお宅まで箪笥の配送。　三人のやんちゃ盛りが新しく来たこの総桐衣裳箪笥に興味津々

お父さんが「秘密の小箱があるよ。探してごらん」と話すと三人這いつくばって一生懸命探索開始

そして発見　　見てくださいこの嬉しそうな顔

この瞬間を見たくて私は出来るだけ配送業者を頼らず自分たちでお届けするように努力しています。

この箪笥もこの子達が大きくなっても大事に使い続けてもらえることでしょう。

追記・・・・  某高層マンション37階のお部屋で外の素晴らしい景色を見るように促されましたが私、極度の高所恐怖症　　これが目下の悩み

The chest in the photo is a small size Yonezawa Tansu.  Sakura on the metal is very charming!!  It should be nice to put in the small corner.

We will introduce many more items soon...

桜の金具がなかなか良い感じの米澤箪笥　　小振りのサイズは取り回しが楽ですから重宝しそうです。

廊下のちょっとしたスペース、クローゼットの中、ワークスペースの片隅に・・・・・・。　アイデア絞ってみてください。
