We went to Yamanashi Prefecture for the meeting. It was raining and cold. The heat of summer has suddenly been taken over by the pleasant autumn coolness. Leaves had not yet changed the color, but we could find cute chesnut burs, so we gathered some to bring back home 
昨日、打ち合わせで山梨県へ。
生憎の雨模様で残念でした。しかも寒い・・・・・
猛暑一転 辺りはすっかりと秋模様。
さすがに紅葉はしていませんでしたが、ススキが綺麗でしたのでお店のディスプレー用に、地面には可愛らしい栗がコロコロ転がっていたのでこちらも少し拾って・・・・・・
収穫の秋
We got many, various Haidai/Sake Cup Holders today!! 
I think they are from a collector who was fascinated by the interesting designs of Haidai. There has been no rule to make Haidai since it was started to be used for special occasions. So potters may have enjoyed making them. Of course, I love them, too!!
Haidai is not a familiar word even in Japan. It is a tool to hold a lacquered Sake cup, used by the guests at the party to share their friendship. Haisen/Sake cup washing bowl follows it. One guest washes Sake cup and pass it to the next guest. Today, I would like to show the Haisen with the picture of Autumn/panpas grass.

今日は大好きな古伊万里の染付盃台を多数手に入れることが出来ました盃台は絵も形も遊びがあるので大好きです。 需要があまりないのか古いものでも価格がそれほど高くないのと、多くのデザインがあり、楽しんで集めることができます。
盃台と一緒に秋らしいすすきの絵付けの盃洗もご紹介します。 この絵付けにはいつ見ても感心させられます。 伊万里の細かい絵付けは皆そうですが、バランスといい、ラインの太さといい、絶妙なのです。 気持ちよく描いていって、最後に帳尻が合わなくなってきた感じの苦しい絵もありますが（笑） 染付の絵付けは一発勝負。やり直しがききません。 職人技として伊万里を観賞するのもとても楽しいモノです

Have you seen the Harvest Moon, last night? Every year, we anticipate watching the solemn and graceful full moon around Autumn Equinox. Since the weather changed for worse in the afternoon, I was in a hurry to take a shot. I admire the beautiful combination of Tokyo Tower and the Full Moon. I found a clip of " Sky Tree and the Moon" on the internet, but I think it isn't quite charming. . .

昨夜は満月。 皆さんご覧になりましたか？
夕方から天気が下り坂でしたので、急いでシャッターを切りました。
東京タワーと満月 なんとも美しい取り合わせです。
昨日、ネット上にはスカイツリーと満月の画像が掲載されていましたが・・・。
どうもイマイチですね。
2008年には東京タワーのてっぺんにちょうど満月が刺さったような決定的瞬間を撮ることができました。

When I woke up and looked down the parking lot from the window this morning, I found a car with a message on the top," I'm sorry." Being still half asleep, I wonder, to whom? for what??? The script seems somewhat different from graffiti, the car doesn't look like a campaign car, , , so, anyway, please, guess what??
今朝、窓を開けて下の駐車場を見ると・・・。 止めてある車の天井に ひとこと、’I'm Sorry' の文字が・・・。
えっ、誰に？何に？ なんて寝ぼけた頭で考えてしまいましたが、一体このメッセージは？？
イタズラ書きにしては妙にうまく収まっているし、宣伝カーで使うにしてはクルマが誰かに謝る必要もないでしょうし・・・
面白いので掲載しちゃいました（笑）
Today, we had a new Kaidan Tansu, which is so high . . . not the price but the height!! Actually, since it is so short in width and depth, it seems to be very tall. The height is 2180mm. The former owner may have gone up and down the stairs daily, he/she must have had very strong legs. In this way, I think of the former owners every time we got new arrivals. The more peculiar the item, especially a furniture, we get, the more curious and imaginative we become. You can put only your toe on one of the steps of this Tansu, and it is a steep flight of stairs. We would recommend it to someone who needs a good exercise!!

高い高い・・・（価格ではありません

幅、奥行きが狭いので非常に高く見えます。
元々は日常に階段として使われていたものなのでしょうが毎日上り下りをしていた元オーナーはさぞ足腰の強い方だったのではないかと・・・・想像してしまいました。
商品が入荷するたび、前に使っていた人のことを考えます。
変わった形の家具を見ると、一体何をどこにしまっていたのかしら？とますます想像意欲をかきたてられます。
この階段箪笥、つま先だけしか入りません。しかもご覧の通りかなり急勾配
最近足腰が弱り気味のアナタ・・・

Strong Yen is not always bad for us, when it comes to shopping. Our nice friend, Mr. Y, who is living in Seattle, sent us some items from the organic grocery store, Trader Joe's. BBQ sauce, coffee beans, pasta sauce, and etc.,they are all very delicious, I love them. We wanted to visit him and go to TJ's this summer, but we couldn't make it because of some air ticket conflicts. That's probably why Mr.Y sent us so many, he must have tought that it was a pitiful thing for us. He also sent us a big T-shirt with the logo of his company. It's so big that it can accommodate two normal size Japanese men. So we decided to give it away to our 'big' friend, who is getting bigger and bigger day by day, I'm looking forward to invite him for BBQ dinner with the sauce of TJ's, so he will gain another kilogram! I know there are many problems caused by the strong Yen, but I try to take up the positive effects of it.

本当はシアトルに直接買いに行く予定だったのがチケットが取れず断念・・・・
同情してくれたのかどっさり買ってわざわざ日本まで送っていただいちゃいました。円高だしものすごく得をした気分

そして・・・彼の会社のロゴ入りTシャツまでプレゼントしていただいたのですが・・・普通の日本人なら二人入ります。 自分で着ることができないので仕方なく、最近ドンドン大きくなっていく友人に譲りました

食べることが大好きなこの友人に送ってもらったBBQソースを使ってスペアリブでもご馳走しようかな？ もっと大きくなるかも・・・・・・
なにはともあれ、円高で困る部分も確かにありますが、それを逆手にするのもまた一考
明るく前向きに物事考えようっと・・・・・・・・。
We went to a town of Saku in Nagano prefecture. While the temperature rose up to 35℃ in Tokyo, it was pleasantly cool and we could feel a fresh air there. Despite a long spell of heat this summer, I could even find the beginning of harvest season in the fields. It was like I finally got a glimpse of autumn. I've felt very lonely in September every year, after the excitement of summer vacation. But this year, I found myself longing for the autumn breeze. Well, I was recharged very much. We are going to have a real autumn soon . . .I hope. Let's enjoy fresh and clear air together!
先日、長野県の佐久へ行って参りました。この日の東京の最高気温は35℃だったのですが、こちらでは気持ちの良い秋の空気を感じることができました
長く続いた猛暑の中でも、田畑ではちゃんと秋の実り
がみられます。
いったいいつになったら涼しくなるのかな～？と気を揉んでいましたが、ようやく一息つけそうですね
9月といえば、夏休みを終えて、秋風を感じるとなんだか寂しくなってしまい、
嫌な気分になっていたものでした。 猛暑が続くと待ち焦がれてしまうものなのですね。
さぁ、これからが秋本番澄んだ空気を思い切り楽しみましょう

Intense heat in Japan doesn't seem to stop. Probably it's not only I but many of you must be wondering if Autumn is really approaching. We hardly feel even a slightest sign of Autumn. I quoted a famous Japanese song for schoolchildren, " We found a small autumn," for today's title, in hope of finding a sign of autumn. But wait!!!
We have a wonderful Lacquered Box for Tea Ceremony with the Makie Picture of Autumn Plants. When I was taking the Tea class, it was a great pleasure to find the items which would be used in the ceremony, anticipating the following season. 
ずっと夏のままなのかな、と心配になってしまうのは私だけでしょうか？？
秋の気配を感じようと、夕暮れ時に虫の声を聞こうと外へ出てみたり、鰯雲が出ていないか空を仰いだり、無理やり秋を見つけようとしてしまいます。

秋草蒔絵の茶箱。 お茶を習っていた頃、茶箱・茶籠が大好きで自分で見立てては色々なものを集めては楽しんだものでした。 季節を先取りして道具を揃える気持ち、今年は特にわかるような気がします・・・・・・
まだまだこんな秋草が見られる日は遠いように思いますが、気持ちの良い風を感じられるまであと少し、頑張りましょう
