This is our new 5-shaku Kitchen Cabinet.  1 shaku= about 30cm.  So 5 shaku is about 150cm. 

It's getting harder and harder to find the Kitchen Cabinet of this width.  We haven't seen the one for quite a while.  Many people think that 1 ken (180cm) is too wide, but 4 shaku (120cm)  is not enough.  So the 5 shaku is the best!  This type is gorgeous with the see-through doors.  You can put your collections inside, where we put the light.

It's a never-ending rivalry --- Yes, we found the Tom & Jerry, Japanese version.  It probably had been the decoration of the handrail of a staircase.  Who ordered this?  Did he/she like cats, or animals?  Anyway, we are sure that this is unusual and interesting!!  It has some chips, but it is of very fine workmanship.  Since the material, Keyaki wood, is one of the hardest woods, curving required advanced skill.  Please come see it at our shop. . . .

面白いものを見つけました。トムとジェリーです（？） 　階段の手摺の一部だったのでしょうが、一体これを発注した人はどういう趣味なのでしょう？単なる動物好きか、それとも受け狙いか

いずれにしても、キズはありますが、非常に良くできています。　堅い木でこれだけのものを作るには相当の技術が必要かと思います

Today, we had a new Kaidan Tansu, which is so high . . . not the price but the height!!  Actually, since it is so short in width and depth, it seems to be very tall.  The height is 2180mm.  The former owner may have gone up and down the stairs daily, he/she must have had very strong legs.  In this way, I think of the former owners every time we got new arrivals.  The more peculiar the item, especially a furniture, we get, the more curious and imaginative we become.  You can put only your toe on one of the steps of this Tansu, and it is a steep flight of stairs.  We would recommend it to someone who needs a good exercise!!

幅、奥行きが狭いので非常に高く見えます。

元々は日常に階段として使われていたものなのでしょうが毎日上り下りをしていた元オーナーはさぞ足腰の強い方だったのではないかと・・・・想像してしまいました。

商品が入荷するたび、前に使っていた人のことを考えます。　

変わった形の家具を見ると、一体何をどこにしまっていたのかしら？とますます想像意欲をかきたてられます。
