Mr. W., who has lived in our neighborhood for a long time, is one of our wonderful customers.  You will be overwhelmed first by his strong and vigorous appearance, but in an instant, by his warmth, wit and a great sense of humour!   As long as we know, he loves Andon lanterns, very much , , , we sometimes worried what he would do with all such lanterns in his home.  Recently, Mr.W. moved from Azabu Nagasaka to Meguro.  Fortunately, we had a chance to visit his new home. It seemed he finished the moving for the most part, and we were glad to find the lanterns he purchased from our store.  ( Those in this picture are not from us, though.)   We wanted to see if our Wajima Lacquered Carp Byobu will fit in the living room, so we tried to put it . . . . .   Please look!!! This Byobu is very big and extremely gorgeous and artistic lacquered with gold.  The huge Byobu looks even small, but it means the size is perfect for the room.  Tone of the color is magnificent, Byobu's gold is good match with the side table, both of them stand out from the light and soft color of the other items.  There is a low table set for this Byobu, which we wanted to show everybody.  Then Mr. W. kindly granted our favor that we will be able to take more pictures of his beautiful home for our interior decorating page.  We feel honored to introduce his house next time!!  Please wait!!!

ご近所に長年住んでいた常連のお客様。大きな体とは裏腹にとても気さくでいつも冗談をいっては私たちを笑わせてくれています。行灯が好きでいくつも購入してくださったのですが、そんなに買ってどうするの？と少々心配になってしまいます。その彼がこのたび、麻布から目黒へお引越しとのこと・・・・。

今日、さっそくお宅を拝見しに行きました。　

ショーウインドーにディスプレーしていた輪島塗の屏風が新居のインテリアに調和するかどうかを兼ねての訪問です。

だいぶ片付いていましたが、細かいところはまだまだこれから・・・・といったところ。

行灯も大事に使ってくださっていました

早速、飾ってみたところ、シックリとハマるではないですか

サイドテーブルの色合いや他のアイテムとの相性もGOOD

とても大きな屏風ですが、この部屋に置くと小さな衝立のよう・・・・・。

実は、この屏風とセットのローテーブルがあるのですが、どうやらこちらも気に入っていただいたご様子。

次回、インテリアコーディネートのコーナーにてお宅を紹介させていただくこととなりました。

今日はその一部をちょっとだけお見せします。

I went to The Sky Deck at the top of Roppongi Hills last night.  Wow...,Tokyo Tower looked small... It was 9:00pm, but what a bright city it is!

Before going up to the deck, I saw Sky Aquarium at Tokyo City View.  I felt somehow bad, fishes looked unhappy.  They are swimming in the light (red, pink, yellow, green...7 colors!) and decorated with the flower. Is it ART??  No, they are living things.

I think I found the reason why I sometimes avoid going to Roppongi Hills.

It's very prestigious thing to have a Japanese Step Tansu ( Kaidan Tansu) in your home.  Basically, unlike Chinese or Korean Tansu made like Japanese, real Japanese Step Tansu is of course unique.  Because each Tansu was made individually for each house, every Step Tansu is different in material, size, pitch of the steps, design of the ironwork.  Everything is custom-made, yes, also unlike modern Japanese housing.  Step Tansu must have made for the good  use of small space, but if you use it like this photo, you can change the atmosphere of your room depending on how to decorate it.  We have tried to find the ones truly in good quality.  Please consult us when you select the Kaidan Tansu.

It was relatively a cool summer this year, and autumn has come without significant change.  We spent most of the summer taking the pictures for our web-site, we went neither to oceans nor mountains.  We also had heavy showers frequently in this summer.  Actually the shower right after taking this picture was like torrents, but we were surprised to find that the 'mosquito incense' we put in the Toro Lantern kept burning while the torrents of rain . . . all these small incidents are our good memories of this summer now.

今年は「夏っ」といえるような日が少なく何となく秋になってしましましたね～。

いつも、暑さに耐えきれず高原や水辺に避難していたのですが、今年はそれもなく終わりそうです。　撮影もあり珍しく東京にずっといました・・・・。

しかし、ゲリラ豪雨には頻繁に遭遇し、この画像を取り始めた矢先、バケツをひっくり返した様な（それ以上だったかも・・・・）ドシャ降りでした

やぶ蚊の襲撃を避けるため、この灯籠の中には蚊取り線香を仕込ませたら見事に撃退

その後の豪雨でも蚊取り線香は消えることなく、蚊を撃滅

意外な使い方が出来ました

We went to The Antique Market at Togo Jinja.  There are many foreign visitors since it is conveniently located in Omotesando.  I hoped they could get nice treasures.  In the pond in front of the Togo Memorial House, there are turtles, grass carps, of course, big colored carps, and etc.  We can enjoy the variety of fish.  On the rock, we even found soft-shelled turtle (Suppon.)  It was BIG like 60cm!!  I imagined the plenty of delicious Suppon Stew  . . . yam . . . .

朝から天気が良いのでお散歩がてら久々に東郷神社の骨董市へ遊びにいってみました。

ここは場所柄、多くの外国人の方が集まってきます。いいお買物はできましたか？

東郷記念館の前にある大きな池には大きな鯉に交じって赤耳亀や草魚なども・・・。こちらも国際色豊か。

天気が良いので石の上には大きなスッポンまで・・・・。　なんと体長60cmほどあります

鍋にしたら食べきれないだろうな～

Naondo is the name of the Antique Shop of our very close friend, Nao.  He used to have a unique shop along the Nakahara Street, in Shinagawa-ku. He has called himself a "Wanderer" from the beginning, but because the owner sold the building, Nao became a wanderer literally, after closing Naondo .  . . . 仲良しの骨董屋さん。　なおんど。

中原街道沿いにお店があったのですが、立ち退きを迫られ今はさすらいの骨董屋さん・・・

お店の移転に伴い、ブログも閉鎖していたのですが、私が執拗に再開を迫った結果どうやら長い夏休みを終わらせブログだけは更新をし始めたようです。

本当は早くお店も再開してほしいのですが、なかなか良い物件が見つからないようで・・・

こんな画像をブログで紹介していますが、真面目に探しなさいね～。

私は本人になりかわり、お気に入り　東京R不動産　を毎日見てはなおんどによさそうな物件はないかな～　と

Hibachi is perfect for side table.  You can put your collections besides coffee or tea.   This time, I put some Sake Cup Holders; they are very useful as small flower pots or as candle holders.  I, too, wanted to collect Sake Cup Holder, but it has been difficult for me since there are many fans of it. 

HIBACHI in our shop, the top board of the glass is included in
the price. You can immediately use this HIBACHI as a table.  Kanto Hibachi shown in the picture is ￥220,000.

火鉢はサイドテーブルにちょうど良いサイズ。

この様にお気に入りのコレクションを飾ったり、お茶やコーヒーをちょっと置くのに重宝します。

今回、私の好きな盃台を数点置いて飾ってみました。キャンドルを中に灯したり、花器として使ってみたりと様々に流用でき便利ですね。盃台は私も集めたいのですが、探してきてもすぐに売れてしまい、なかなか増えません・・・・。

Guess where it is!  It's in the center of Setagaya ward, TOKYO!   I heard it used to be a dense forest around here.  Gardeners had to cut trees in order for the plants to take enough sunshine.  Compared to this, it is miserable that now we have to bring the earth and plants from somewhere to make gardens.  Can you see the Big Stone Toro here and there?  The owner of this land must have enjoyed seasonal change in this garden. . . we wish to return here when this garden will be covered with snow.

ここは何処？　と迷宮に迷い込んだかのような錯覚さえ覚えるこの風景・・・。

なんと、世田谷のど真ん中　　このような風景があるんです・・・・・　

この辺り、その昔は鬱蒼とした森のような風景だったそうです。

今では、緑を求めてせっせと植物を植えたりしていますが、その昔はまったく逆の発想で、せめて庭くらいはお天道様の光が差し込むようにと、庭師（今でいうガーデンプランナー）に依頼しわざわざ造らせていたそうで・・・・。なんとも贅沢なお話です。　

職業柄、まず目に留まったのが巨大な石灯籠

後ろの倉庫の屋根と比較してください　しかもいくつもあるじゃないですか・・・・。

広すぎてすべて写すことができませんでしたが、あちらにも、こちらにも・・・・・。絶句

春夏秋冬。　その変化が楽しいお庭なのでしょう。　次は、是非、雪景色が見てみたい

This is the Table made from the door of a warehouse.  The legs are detachable so you can change the height and it can be a dining table.  We were so glad that we could find the craftsmen to do this job.  They have a true artisanship.  So we have to be polite when we ask them something peculiar. . . 前からご紹介したかった蔵戸を使用したローテーブル。　今回の撮影に合わせて作ってみました。

ポイントはコーヒーテーブルにもダイニングテーブルにも使う方の用途に合わせて調整できるようにすること。　脚部分を取り外し可能にすることで変幻自在

用途に合わせて脚の長さを調整出来、万が一、引っ越しの際にも便利です

撮影の見学に訪れた方皆が、これが蔵の扉だと最初は解らなかったようです・・・・。

この様な変な注文に応えてくれる職人さんが麻布近辺にまだまだ多く残っていることが大変心強いと感じます。　（職人気質に感謝）　

もちろん、きちんと礼儀を尽くさない絶対に受けてもらえませんけどね。
