Before restore....'Andon' / 輪廻転生? 行灯編
It's difficult to know the real condition on antiques when we bid at the auctions.
Especially on the paper lamps like 'Andon', paper hides the bad condition on the frame and soot /oil covers the real lacquer 'Urushi' color.
We wash and clean all surface, fix the frame and put beautiful paper on them. It takes over 1 week to restore one Andon.
Of course, we are proud of our 'Andon' for their beautiful condition!!
「大蔵さんのお店にあるものは古いものにしてはキレイなものが多いね～」 などとよく言われるのですが、仕入したときからキレイなわけではないのです。
例えばこの行灯。 何年もほったらかしにされ、汚れ放題・・・・・。
このままではとてもじゃないけど使う気になれないですよね。普通の感覚なら粗大ゴミにしてさようなら～って感じ。
しかし、手をかけてあげれば十分に蘇るのです。ここからが腕の見せ所！
汚れを落とし、虫食いを直し、オリジナル和紙を張り、最後に「大蔵オリエンタルアート」の秘薬
をふりかけて？？？？
