'Sashiko' Jacket
I would like to introduce two items that I found today.
The first one is 'Sashiko' Jacket, which is a cover-up of Kimono.
In old days, general Japanese citizens had only a couple of Kimono for each person. Due to its preciousness, people quilted fabrics in order to strengthen it. That technique is called as "Sashiko" in Japanese, and I found the beautiful 'Sashiko' Jacket in very nice condition.
I think it was used in early Showa era and its color is Indigo (natural dye). Please enjoy the unique feelings of the warmth of someone's handmade.
