Aged hospitable item stil makes you feel warm.
Today, I would like to introduce "Imari Sake Stand," made during the late period of Edo era.
When ancient Japanese served his/her guests with sake, the host passed a sake cup to the guest by putting the cup on a "Sake Stand," and the guest passed the cup with the stand to the next guest. Serving sake with a "Sake Stand" was one of the most important aspects of hospitality at that time, so we can see some different designs of "Sake Stand," such as made of ceramic and lacquer, not only made of porcelain. Yet, see-through type is a rear one and you can hardly find many, especially unbroken ones.
Although it was originally used for serving sake, as the picture, it becomes a beautiful interior item when you put tea light in there. Isn't just an amazing and heartwarming item?
